FoSP is Pomegranate Center’s 2009 Dig Fund partner! This means the folks at Pomegranate Center are partnering with us to work on one revitalization project for the park this year.
We chose to work on artistic, community-crafted gateways into the park so we could raise visibility and bring more community members in. We believe more people means more safety for everyone using the park.
Why Gateways?
Skyway Park is such a great gem – not many communities have a centralized 23-acre park open for everyone! But despite its size and great location, the park is relatively unknown to residents of Skyway.
The first step to revitalizing Skyway Park is making sure people know it’s there! Building these gateways will mark the entrances and add visibility. With visibility comes more people, and more people means more safety and ownership of the park by the whole community.
